Lauren Jones

Founder & CEO

Lauren Jones, Founder and CEO of Boudica (formerly Box Creative), is an Accredited Brand Architect, Strategist and Specialist, MA and BA (Hons), NLP Practitioner (and certified yoga instructor!).
She’s designed everything from retail interiors to global brand activations, bespoke furniture to award-winning digital customer experiences, and now helps impact-focused leaders and female founders grow their organisations using the power of brand, storytelling and design.
Her agency has unearthed hundreds of brands across the globe and helped leaders meaningfully show up and stand out.

A few things about me…

  1. I trained as a furniture designer, and have showcased my work at Stockholm Furniture Fair, Levi’s Paris flagship store, The Big Chill London and Topshop Boutique.
  2. I live by the sea with my boyfriend and dog, Roo. She has way more Insta followers than me… @roodog_theborderterrier.
  3. I’m obsessed with plants and my garden. 100% certified crazy plant lady.
  4. I’m a twin. And yes, we can read each other’s minds… and yes, we’re best friends!
  5. I once went on a “6 month” trip around the world… and returned over 3 years later. It was the best decision of my life.

Leia Bygrave

Senior Design Lead

Leia has 18 years of experience as a Brand Designer in agencies across London including Design Bridge, Coley Porter Bell, Elmwood and Landor, and has a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design from the prestigious Norwich Art School.
She has designed packaging and branding for all sorts of consumer goods – everything from condoms to mayonnaise to crisps (potato chips) to chocolate to rum.
Now she is embracing a new challenge, working with Boudica since 2019 to unearth the visual language of impact-focused and female-lead brands.

A few things about me…

  1. I live by the sea with my husband, 3 children and dog ‘Red’. We will mostly be found on the beach.
  2. I love a podcast. True Crime, comedy, self help, all of them! Recommendations always welcome.
  3. When I was 28 I packed my bags and traveled around South America, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Cambodia. What a privilege and an eye opening experience.
  4. I’m an ‘enthusiast’ Paddleboarder. Although I’m not very good yet. I can often be spotted falling off around Leigh on sea.
  5. I won a DNAD award at university and had my work show cased in the 2006 book. I’ve been chasing that yellow pencil ever since.

Katherine Knowles

Creative Director, Verbal Identity Specialist

Katherine is a verbal identity specialist and creative director. She worked at Interbrand NYC before striking out on her own, and her client list runs the gamut from Fortune 500 companies to one-person start-ups. She has a special interest in healthcare and medical technology brands, and loves to name new products. Katherine holds BA/MA in English from Oxford University and an MA in Text in Performance from Kings College London and RADA. She lives in New York.

A few things about me…

  1. I’m a collector – costume jewellery, cookbooks, candlesticks, musicals on first-press vinyl, novelty kitchen equipment, books of Victorian ghost stories, matchbooks, red lipsticks, anecdotes.
  2. I’ve been a member of St Bart’s choir for 15 years, and I am a giant nerd about Christmas carol arrangements and descants.
  3. I was a restaurant critic for The Village Voice, and my writing has been featured in Food 52.
  4. I’m at my happiest, martini in hand, ordering steak at the bar on a Friday night.
  5. I’m reading my way through complete Agatha Christie – and consequently know a lot more about poisoning by foxgloves than anyone really should.
  6. My biggest misjudgment? Thinking it would be easy to give back my foster kitten
