Gill Moakes brings over 30 years of business leadership, coaching, mentoring and consulting expertise to her ethos – but this is not business as usual.

Gill’s coaching style and methods have grown, deepened and evolved over this lustrous career, and her brand had long been outgrown. Like many business owners, she struggled to really see the wood for the trees, and also OWN what she had built, her story and her impact. That’s where we stepped in.

Together, we created a brand that allowed Gill to find, own and use her most authentic self with confidence and a bit of spice – unapologetically, abundantly and vibrantly; just like Gill and her clients.

THE CHALLENGE

Stepping up and speaking out

Gill will be the first to admit that this was an interesting, challenging and transformative process. Many times, she got in her own way (I say with love and kindness!). This showed something so many female founders – not fully permitting themselves to step into their brilliance, their voice and say what they want. And yet, this was exactly what Gill does for her clients. Taking Gill on this journey was the biggest challenge – to the raw, unapologetic self that was hiding behind her previous brand, which wasn’t reflective of who she is and what she does. Our goal was to invite, nudge, carry and push Gill to fully own all that she is and wants by supporting her in uncovering and building it with her. This was not easy, but we got there! Gill truly walked the walk with this project, and my god, she’s now reaping the rewards…

At the heart of the strategy lies the concept of the dichotomy of being a female founder – the ‘we are both this and that’, the paradox, the contradictions. The palette is bold and sophisticated. The type is clean and soft. The messaging spicy and inviting. The monogram upper and lowercase. The logo is italic and roman. The identity captures this strategy of being all things – and embracing it. There’s strength and vibrancy matched with an elegance and sophistication that give the identity whatever it needs to be. All whilst still staying true to Gill. It’s a visual and verbal demonstration for Gill’s clients to see themselves, to identify with and connect to.
