I found this little gem whilst I was having a clear out in my studio – nothing beats a lick of paint and a decluttering.
10 years ago I was studying for my masters degree in brand strategy. For my thesis, I was drawn into social enterprise and impact work, and the role/value branding and design could play for them.
I got lost down several rabbit holes – burrowing into the nuances of impact work, the incredible people behind it, their ingenuity, tenacity and creativity when it came to problem solving.
It was my introduction to the changemakers mindset – something I now witness on a daily basis through The Elevate Prize Foundation and their growing cohort of incredible global impact leaders.
There must have been something about this piece of paper I’d photocopied all that time ago, that stuck with me enough to keep hold of it for so long.
Today I looked over it again with fresh eyes, through the stains and faded tape, and saw the gold and the truth behind these words.
I especially love the table that outlines “Trends in shifting mindsets”:
If you’re considering working in social impact, this is a great list and table to start with – read it, but above all do it, in order to be it.
